Shuvinai Ashoona has gained international recognition for her drawings, which successfully straddle the worlds of contemporary art and Inuit art. Her work is influenced by the place she lives, the people she works with, the world she takes in through the media, and her imagination. This selection of key works, beginning with early monochromatic drawings and closing with Shuvinai’s most recent collaborative work, highlights the development of her practice from her first works in the early 1990s to her 2015 collaboration with a contemporary artist, Shary Boyle.
