Sara Angel
Founder, Executive Director, and Publisher
Sara Angel received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, where she wrote her dissertation on the restitution cases of the Montreal art dealer Max Stern’s Nazi-looted art. Angel is the Founder and Executive Director of the Art Canada Institute, the leading initiative in promoting Canadian art and making it accessible to twenty-first century audiences through its publishing program, art education, and art fellowships. An adjunct professor at both York University and Western University, Angel teaches courses on art crime and art restitution. She is a frequent contributor to publications including The Globe and Mail, ArtNews, and Maclean’s. She has been a guest lecturer at Harvard University, the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the Israel Museum. Angel lives in Toronto with her husband and three teenage children.

Suneel Khanna
Deputy Executive Director
Suneel Khanna brings more than 25 years of experience building and managing high-performing teams at some of Canada and the world’s most iconic companies and not-for-profit organizations—including Rogers Media and Communications, RBC, Tim Horton’s Foundation, Maclean’s magazine, and Canadian Executives Serving Oversees—to the Art Canada Institute. He has a firm track record of delivering against organizational objectives while advancing equity and social justice and has been recognized by his peers, earning accolades from various industry organizations, including the International Association of Business Communicators. Khanna received his MA in journalism from the University of Western Ontario, holds a Masters Certificate in Marketing Communications Leadership from the Schulich School of Business, and a Professional Publishing Certificate from the Canadian Magazine Publishers Association. He lives in Toronto with his husband.

Stephen Sieger
Director of Finance
Stephen Sieger is a CPA with more than 15 years of experience and has held senior financial management positions at several companies including AGF Management, TD Bank Group, Bank of Montreal, and Sovereign General Insurance. In these roles, Stephen has had responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting and planning, systems of internal controls, and team development. Stephen thrives on supporting organizations to achieve their strategic objectives and enjoys working cross-functionally with colleagues. Stephen holds an MSc from the University of Toronto and a BSc from Western University.

Emma Doubt
Director of Programming and Education
Emma Doubt is a Montreal-based art historian with a background in research, education, and editorial content development. She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Sussex (UK), completed with a three-year doctoral award from the Arts & Humanities Research Council, as well as an MA in Art History and a joint-BA in Literature and Art History from McGill University. Prior to her role as Director of Programming and Education at ACI, Doubt worked primarily in education and curriculum development, which included content development for ACI’s education program; teaching and developing a wide range of courses in art and design history at the college level; and co-leading a two-year ECQ-funded research initiative focused on interventions into canonical teaching approaches in college-level art history curriculum.
